Hello there! My name is Leanna Park. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families through their toughest times, can celebrate with you through the good times, and be there with you through everything else in between. I can't wait to watch you grow as you meet your personal needs! My approach is client-centered/person-centered. I will meet you where you're at, with unconditional positive regard, and empathy, and allow you to have a space to create the life you feel like you need and deserve. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to allow them to become the best versions of themselves along their therapeutic journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients should expect the first session with me to be one of getting to know one another, building rapport, and finding out the presenting concerns that you're coming to therapy to resolve. I will also go over what it means to be in therapy and informed consent, safety, and the limits to confidentiality. Think of the first session like a lighthearted conversation.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My career as a therapist started while I was working as a paramedic. I saw many things that piqued my interest and allowed me to want to do further exploration into helping others and being able to see the connection between mental and physical health. Saving lives for me not only in a way of physical means but also mentally drives me further in allowing clients to get the best care possible. Given this, my strengths that I provide as a therapist is someone who does not give up easy and has this innate urge to help others in ways that many people may/may not have. I can be a confidant to someone in their biggest time of need, and a listening ear when you need it.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

The clients I am best able to serve are the ones who are open to feedback and are willing to change. Clients can come to me with a variety of issues, like relationship issues, personal traumas, anxieties, and we can speak through those; and more. The mindset of the client is also something that can vary from person to person and this is what makes therapy exciting. I am hoping to have clients to have an open mindset and interested in therapeutic feedback with long term goals to match!

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

With this approach, I like to find myself really focusing in on the needs of the client/couple. By doing this approach to the best of my clinical ability, it allows me to help the client in aiding them to find resolution to the issue[s] at hand with unconditional positive regard and treating them more of a human, versus a client. It tells a story which helps aid in the therapy I provide.
