Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in MA and NH . I have a master's degree from Boston University and have been working in the mental health field for 17 years. I have experience working with individuals ages 16 and older dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, parenting, chronic illness, substance abuse, marital issues, self improvement, and grief and loss. I have a strong interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, and Supportive Therapy
In our first session, we will start with getting to know each other, delve into your history (personal/family , medical, mental health, substance use, work/education) and then we will look at the issues that are most pressing to you currently. We will then identify your goals for therapy and this will help me tailor a plan for follow up sessions.
Having worked many years in the field of mental health, I have seen the benefit of creating a trusting relationship of positive unconditional regard and thereby helping clients to navigate the challenges they face and equip them with the skills they need to improve their lives.
I have experience working with all age groups and I would love to continue working with individual adults across the life span. I particularly like to work with clients whom are willing to make sacrifices, learn new coping mechanisms and may have to take risks in order to change. At this time, I am not accepting children or couples.

Motivational Interviewing
I have used this approach for many years with clients seeking change in their lives but question having the ability or strength to do so. . MI is a collaborative , goal oriented therapeutic approach and is helpful when ambivalence is high and confidence is low.
Positive Psychology
I use Positive Psychology to help people identify quality of life, happiness, gratitude, resilience, positive traits, interests and how this applies to physical health

Kerrie is a great listener and person to talk to. She is thoughtful in her questions and responses during our conversations, and I feel like she truly cares and hears what I'm going through. Her ability to validate, challenge, and help me explore my thoughts and feelings makes me feel understood and hopeful. She never makes me feel judged, rushed, or bad - only good things come from talking to Kerrie!

Kerrie was so easy to talk to and seemed to have an understanding of what I was dealing with and could relate to what I was saying. It was very helpful to be able to open up and talk about things that I've been carrying alone for so long. I definitely recommend Kerrie. Looking forward to my next appointment with her.
