I have been in the mental health field since 2007. I was informed when I first started in this field that the average time for people to stay in the field is two years. I am still in the field because helping others is more than a career choice for me, it is my passion in life. Helping others is a personal goal of mine. I look forward to the opportunity. I enjoy seeing people make positive changes in their lives. I have worked with families, couples, children, adolescents and teens, from various cultures and backgrounds. Each case and each client is unique in their way and each client is important. My particular areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage counseling and family counseling. I refer to myself as a "simple-minded therapist" which means we will explore simple ways to address the presenting concerns because many times the solutions are so simple they can be easily overlooked. I am a firm believer that holding a conversation is more productive than expounding on theoretical approaches.
In our first session, I will inform you about my methods and my approach. I will listen to your concerns, and access the information in order to formulate a goal for treatment.
My main theoretical approach is cognitive behavioral therapy. However, I tend to utilize everyday and life events to bring the mental health concerns to a place where the client can relate to them and see them in a simple form, rather than complex.
I feel that my greatest asset is my ability to relate to everyone that I come in contact with. I am non-judgemental and I see the person, not the diagnosis. I speak to the person, not their diagnosis. I want to get to know the person that is in front of me.

Awesome, very laid back, felt very comfortable to the extent that he felt like someone I've known for years. His strategies have already lifted a weight off my shoulders

I appreciate his approach to counseling. He made me feel comfortable immediately. Felt more like we were just old friends talking which eased any apprehension I was feeling. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs to talk to someone without any of negatives that you may feel that may be associated with talking with someone. Thank you Edward.

I’ve been seeing my therapist for the past two years, and I can confidently say he’s been incredibly helpful and supportive throughout my journey. He provides a safe, nonjudgmental space where I always feel heard and understood. His insight and compassion have helped me make meaningful progress in both my personal and emotional growth. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a therapist who is genuinely dedicated to helping others heal and thrive.
