New to Grow
I help teenagers and adults work through life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health challenges that may be affecting their relationships and goals. I have been in the mental health field for more than a decade, and have been a licensed counselor since 2021. I am passionate about working with people to achieve breakthroughs in their lives, improve their understanding of what they need and want, and improve boundaries with those around them. Asking for help can push us outside our comfort zone, but that’s often where real growth begins. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore, heal, and grow. You don’t have to do this alone. (También hablo español.)
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we can focus on the goals and what you would like to achieve in therapy. You can choose to prepare by writing down some of the main points you would like to cover, but it is not required. I understand that the first therapy session can be nerve-racking for many, but just know that this is a safe space. If there is something that I see in the intake paperwork that I see as important to cover, I will ask more questions during this session. At the end of each session, we will discuss a goal for the next session.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I help people who look fine on the outside yet feel misunderstood and alone with battles no one sees. They wonder if their “normal” really hides trauma and sense that burying feelings can only last so long. In therapy, we give those hidden struggles a voice, make sense of the chaos, and build skills that put them back in charge. Some of the most common concerns voiced in therapy are, “I don’t feel listened to,” “I struggle to communicate my thoughts,” and “I’m about to give up.” These thoughts carry emotional pain rooted in past hurts. To cope, many have learned to disconnect from their feelings just to survive. In therapy, I sit with people who feel stuck and together we trace the old survival patterns and unhealed trauma that still shape their lives. As we untangle the roots, they begin to trust themselves again. They are no longer defined by their past, but begin to create a genuine sense of peace with life.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I help people struggling with experiences related to life transitions, anxiety, panic attacks, fears, or trauma that may be affecting their potential in life and/or relationships. Those who don’t resonate with “just cope” therapy and are ready to invest in themselves. I believe change happens with one conversation at a time. We are all just trying our best therefore every experience is valid and deserves a space to be expressed.
