My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used during talk therapy to help clients identify automatic thoughts that lead to emotions that affect outcomes. Client's are guided and encouraged to develop goals, identify negative thinking patterns, and reframe negative thoughts. I also use grief therapy, psychoeducation, and trauma informed care to assist clients in their healing process during the session.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Therapist will teach the client emotion regulation and mindfulness skills to help client reduce negative patterns and unhelpful behaviors. Therapist will validate the client's emotions while guiding them toward acceptance of the current reality. Therapist will teach distress tolerance to help manage intense emotions.

Attachment-based

Therapist will help clients navigate emotions and identify behavior patterns in adult relationships including romantic, social, and professional relationships. Therapist will guide the client through exploring experiences with their family of origin, rebuilding trust, and reflecting on past relationship patterns.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Therapist allows client to direct the session and accepts and values the client without judgment, criticism, or evaluation.

Grief Therapy

Therapist will show empathy, use active listening, and provide emotional support. Therapist will teach coping strategies to help clients cope with the emotional pain and challenges associated with loss and death.

I find it very hard to be open and vulnerable, and Amy was able to get me to be honest about my trauma and the changes it brought to my life. My sessions with her has helped me to evolve and learn so much about myself. I can’t begin to thank her enough, as she continues to help and empower me through my new normal.
