Hello! My name is Lidia Conners, a Clinical Social Worker with two decades of experience. I have successfully treated a diverse population of adults and older adolescents with mental health inquiries specifically with anxiety, depression or trauma. I came to this field as I believe in the potential we all have and understand that at times certain perceptions or an overactive /underactive nervous system many times keep us stuck and rob us from living our best lives. I strongly believe in contributing to the well-being of clients using a client-centered, caring/compassionate individualized approach.
In our first session we will learn if we are a best fit for you and what brought you to therapy. We will conduct a biopsychosocial assessment that will provide clinical information to identify your specific mental health concerns and condition. We will also identify your goals for treatment and start building a therapeutic alliance that leads to a healthy and peaceful life.
I am bilingual which allows me to connect with clients that speak English or Spanish. I have a soft and direct approach that allows your healing on a timeline that suits your therapeutic needs. I am skilled in multiple therapeutic techniques, and I actively work to keep current with developments in the mental health field.
I believe I did not come to this profession to serve my needs. I seek to contribute and help people with a distorted sense of self, life circumstances and/or the world; so together we explore and identify ways available to increase well-being, develop effective coping and emotional regulation skills. Help them recognize their strengths that will help him/her navigate and responds to his/her difficulties in a more effective way. I best serve individuals in general, struggling with life circumstances, life transitions, problems with relationships and self -identity whose symptoms show as anxiety, depression, and a lot of the times caused by developmental or acute trauma that has not been processed.

CBT is used to identify irrational ways of thinking, negative thought patterns that guide a person's behavior. We learn to identify these, challenge them and restructure the way we think as these thoughts encourage emotions and guide behaviors.
