Brianna Izabal
Hello, I’m Brianna Izabal, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who provides compassionate, genuine, and person-centered therapy. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, heard, respected, and supported without judgment. My approach is collaborative, meaning we will work together to understand your experiences, identify your needs, and create realistic steps toward the changes you hope to make. I enjoy working with young adults who may be navigating life transitions, academic or career stress, relationships, family dynamics, identity development, self-esteem, anxiety, or the pressure of trying to figure out what comes next. Young adulthood can bring exciting opportunities, but it can also feel overwhelming, lonely, or uncertain. You do not have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy.
Hi, I’m Brianna, a compassionate, genuine, and empathetic therapist who uses a person-centered approach. Therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you can be heard, understood, and accepted without judgment.
In our work together, I will meet you where you are and honor your individual story, culture, values, and strengths. I believe your feelings and behaviors often communicate important needs, and therapy can help you better understand those messages while developing healthier ways to cope, communicate, and care for yourself. My goal is to create a warm and welcoming therapeutic relationship where you can be your authentic self. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult season, hoping to strengthen your relationships, or wanting to reconnect with yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Therapy is not about changing who you are; it is about helping you feel more connected to yourself and more confident in the life you are building.
First session
During your first session, you can expect a welcoming and judgment-free space to begin sharing your story at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We will spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to therapy, and exploring what you hope to gain from the experience. I may ask questions about your current concerns, relationships, background, daily life, strengths, and any challenges you are experiencing. You do not have to share everything during the first session, and you are always welcome to let me know if a question feels too personal or if you need more time. The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about therapy, my approach, and what you can expect moving forward. Together, we will begin identifying goals and discussing how therapy can best support you. Depending on your needs, we may also explore coping strategies or small steps you can take between sessions. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and more comfortable with the therapeutic process. You do not need to arrive with the perfect words or have everything figured out. Simply showing up is a meaningful first step, and we will work together from there.
Strengths
The strengths I bring to my sessions are warmth, empathy, patience, and genuine presence. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, respected, and accepted for who they are. I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, so I take time to build trust and develop a relationship grounded in compassion and authenticity. I bring a person-centered and collaborative approach to my work. Rather than assuming I know what is best for a client, I listen carefully to their experiences, concerns, values, and goals. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to support them as they develop insight, recognize their strengths, and identify steps that feel meaningful and manageable. I am also patient and understanding when clients need time to process their thoughts and emotions. I do not expect clients to have everything figured out when they enter therapy. I meet clients where they are and offer support without judgment, while also gently encouraging growth and self-reflection. Another strength I bring is creativity. I believe therapy does not have to look the same for everyone, and I am open to using conversation, reflection, practical strategies, and creative activities when they support the client’s needs and preferences. I also value each client’s individual background, culture, identity, relationships, and life experiences. Above all, I bring a commitment to being genuine and continuously learning. I want my clients to feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. My hope is that each session provides clients with greater clarity, self-compassion, and confidence as they navigate their lives.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is a person between the ages of 18 and 30 who may be navigating anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, or major life transitions. They may feel stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed by the expectations of adulthood and are looking for a safe, supportive space to process their experiences. I enjoy working with clients who want to better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, build confidence, and create meaningful change at their own pace. My goal is to meet each client where they are and provide compassionate, genuine, and nonjudgmental support.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I utilize a primarily person-centered and child-centered approach in my practice, emphasizing the development of a safe, supportive, and trusting therapeutic relationship with each client. I provide a genuine, warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. I tailor treatment to each client’s individual developmental level, needs, strengths, and goals.
