About me

I believe healing happens when people feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. I provide a collaborative space where we can explore life's challenges, strengthen resilience, and reconnect to a sense of purpose. I work with adults of all ages and have a special interest in supporting older adults, as well as people experiencing life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, or spiritual concerns. For clients who desire it, I integrate spirituality and the Christian faith into the therapeutic process in ways that are meaningful and respectful of each person's faith. In addition to being a therapist, I am also an ordained minister who works with people of various faiths. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I am committed to providing an affirming, welcoming environment for LGBTQ individuals. I recognize that navigating identity, relationships, family dynamics, and faith can be complex. I strive to create a space where every person feels respected, valued, and empowered to live authentically. . My approach focuses on the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, and spirit. I use emotional freedom technique and mindfulness based therapy. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will spend the first session getting to know you. We will learn about what brought you to therapy, and how I may help. We will discuss how to move forward together. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, and we can discuss what you would hope to get out of therapy. You do not need to share everything or have all the solutions. There is no "right" way to participate in therapy. We'll focus on what matters most to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Curiosity is one of the strengths I bring to therapy. I believe it is crucial therapists have an openness and sense of curiosity about their clients experiences. Authenticity is also an important strength. I want to bring the real me into the therapy room, and want you to feel comfortable being yourself around me. In addition, I want to tailor therapy to your specific needs and wishes. There is no "one size fits all" therapy approach or modality.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief, medical issues, Christian counseling, spiritual counseling, LGBT issues, and eldercare. As a member of the LGBTQA community, I am passionate about working with LGBTQA community. I am Christian who is open to working with people of different faiths. I have experience working with elders in outpatient therapy and in nursing homes. I have worked with individuals dealing with grief and/or medical issues.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I am happy to speak with clients about how their Christian faith intersects with their mental health and stressors they are navigating.

Grief Therapy

I use grief therapy to help clients process the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral impact of loss while supporting them in adapting to life after that loss. My approach is client-centered and recognizes that grief is a highly individual experience with no single "right" way to grieve.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

It is important to be present with our feelings. However, most of us were taught by our families and by society to repress our feelings. It is a paradigm shift to begin to embrace rather than push down our feelings. Clients often feel relieved when they start to be present with various emotions. Together, we build skills that reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and support healthier ways of responding to life's challenges.
