(he/him)
Hello, I'm Josh! I help individuals manage anxiety and depression, overcome burnout, and work through grief. I believe in a patient-centered, holistic approach to providing counseling. My approach combines cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and mindfulness techniques- all tailored to meet your unique and specific needs. Together, we will identify triggers, thoughts, behaviors, and core beliefs that are no longer serving you to help get you on the path you want to be on. It takes courage to start a journey of self-exploration with the aim of a better, healthier life. If you are ready to take your first steps, I am here to help support and empower you along your path.
Our first session together is an opportunity for us both to learn more about one another. I get to know more about you and what it is that you are wanting to see come from being in therapy. You get to learn more about me as a therapist and how I work to tailor our sessions to your goals and needs.
I believe in meeting people where they are and helping them to traverse the path to where they want to go in life. I listen more than talk- these sessions are about you and I want you to feel heard and supported. My private practice focuses more on individuals ages 18 and older who are coming to therapy for issues around anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and chronic/end-stage diseases. I have additional experience working with individuals within the LGBTIQA+ community, veterans, and those who follow non-secular spiritual/religious paths.
I primarily work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. I have worked with individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, chronic health conditions, or who feel overwhelmed by life in general. I work with individuals of various backgrounds- LGBTIQA+, single moms, veterans, law enforcement, etc.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been utilizing components of CBT since grad school and find that it works well for a variety of people and situations. I truly believe that our thoughts, feelings, and emotions are intertwined and by understanding these dynamics we can help foster meaningful change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I am currently going through additional training to be certified in DBT; however, I have been using the skills taught in DBT with individuals for the past 4 years. DBT offers a wealth of opportunities for enhancing an individual's well-being through skill building in the areas of- emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal relationships.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Therapy in itself is the ability to look within and paying attention to how our thoughts, actions, and beliefs impact us. Mindfulness skills helps us learn ways to look within with less judgment and acceptance.

Joshua felt like a calming presence and very easy to open up to. My nerves went away within the first minute of conversation with him. I left my session feeling lighter and happier than I had in awhile.
