Tomika Hardy
Welcome! I'm Dr. Hardy, a doctoral-level advanced clinical practitioner with 14 years of experience and dual licensure in behavioral health and chemical dependency. While my education and licenses complement my clinical framework, I believe my true qualification to hold space for your transformation comes from my own rich life experiences.
I help you transform your deepest pain into purpose and long-term healing. Together, we will break free from the patterns keeping you stuck so you can reclaim your story and live with genuine confidence.
Together, we will use this deeply relatable, expert care to help you break free from old patterns and turn your deepest pain into purpose.
First session
It is a soft landing where the weight you’ve been carrying can finally be set down in a safe, unhurried space. We will check in on exactly what you need in that moment, whether that is simply being heard or starting to build an action plan, and leave with a shared vision of how to begin transforming your pain into purpose.
Strengths
My sessions are unique because I draw from my own lived experience, both the beautiful and the bruising, to understand the realities of your struggles, not just the theory behind them. Because of this, I don't use a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I enter every session asking what you need in that exact moment, blending deep space-holding with action-oriented challenge depending on your daily needs. By tailoring our time around your innate abilities, interests, and hobbies, we will co-create a dynamic space where you can actively transform your pain into purpose.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is any individual, from adolescents navigating identity and peer pressure to older adults navigating life transitions and legacy, who is ready to look past their struggles and actively rewrite their story. You are an ideal fit for my practice if you are carrying deep pain, a history of trauma, behavioral health challenges, or patterns of chemical dependency, but harbor a quiet desire to transform that pain into purpose. Whether you need a soft, non-judgmental space to be heard or a practical push toward action, you are someone who wants a deeply relatable therapist to meet you exactly where you are today and help you discover the innate strengths you already possess.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In our sessions, we will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to look at how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected. When you get stuck in a negative loop, your brain often jumps to worst-case scenarios or harsh self-criticism. Together, we will gently examine those automatic thoughts, separate fact from fiction, and practice small, real-world changes to break old habits. My goal is to give you practical, everyday tools so you can feel more in control, less overwhelmed, and confident navigating life outside of therapy.
Narrative
I use Narrative Therapy to help you remember that you are the author of your own life, and you are not your problems. It’s easy for a heavy issue like anxiety or self-doubt to take over your story and make you feel stuck. Together, we will separate you from the problem, uncover the strengths and successes you might have forgotten, and rewrite a new storyline for your future—one where you hold the pen, not your struggles.
Trauma-Informed Care
I practice Trauma-Informed Care, which means our sessions will always prioritize your safety, trust, and choice. Instead of asking "What is wrong with you?", we look at "What happened to you?" and how your mind and body learned to adapt to survive. We will work entirely at your pace, ensuring you never feel rushed to share more than you are ready for. Together, we will honor your survival strategies while gently building a sense of internal peace and safety in the present.
