Welcome! I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in CT since 2014 and implement evidence-based treatments to support clients with a variety of stressors related to life adjustment, anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, family and academics. I have specialized training in working with clients from a myriad of backgrounds and presenting issues (anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma and chronic medical issues). While each therapeutic relationship is unique, my typical style includes formation of a positive and collaborative clinical relationship to support client in utilizing therapeutic safe to open about and process life stressors. I am an excellent active listener and create a therapeutic environment to allow for clients to gain insight and develop a plan to meet their goals. I tend to offer psychoeducation briefly and can offer homework if student feels it would be helpful. It is important to me for my clients to feel feeling validated, supported, and gently challenged to view situations from different perspectives to help create positive change. Collaboratively, we will work together to create a safe environment for healing to occur and meet goals for treatment.
In our first session, clients can expect to be welcomed to therapy and brief introductions. Clients will have the opportunity to ask questions about the therapeutic process in order to make them feel comfortable. We will then explore presenting issues that bring them to therapy and an individual treatment plan will be collaboratively created.
As a therapist, my greatest strengths are my ability develop healthy therapeutic relationships that allow clients to feel comfortable in exploring issues that bring them to therapy. I also have an ability to empathize and be present and actively listen in the moment. I display warmth, kindness, unconditional positive regard and patience in treatment.
I am best positioned to serve adults that present to treatment with a wide variety of presenting issues. I enjoy working with clients with a variety of motivation levels. I enjoy meeting clients where they are at. It's ok to feel stuck, uncertain or anxious. Working collaboratively healthy tools can be developed to make goals a reality. I am looking forward to working together.
