About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who offers individuals, adults, geriatric populations in a general private practice setting in Texas & California. My practice offers a place where you can feel heard in a supportive, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment. I focus on adult care including women’s issues, career/educational issues, interpersonal communication, self-esteem, anger management, stress management, relationship issues, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. I like to do therapy in an “eclectic” manner, drawing on cognitive-behavioral, narrative, spirituality, solution-focused, and others.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll get to know each other and you'll help me understand a bit about who you are. We'll work together to develop a plan of action for therapy that works for you. Our initial session, wee will dedicate time to establishing a connection, determining what your needs and goals are. This session will provide an opportunity for discussion and clarification about our therapeutic partnership and objectives. If we are a good match, we will schedule a time for an intake and future sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a provider, my greatest strength is rapport building. I truly believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of healing in a clinical setting. Building rapport and trust can deeply impact how a person can develop and grow. My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and equipped to face life’s challenges. My approach is rooted in compassion, non-judgment, and collaboration. I am skilled at helping clients evaluate their current situation and figure out how to move forward, whether they are in crisis, considering treatment for the first time, returning to treatment, trying to manage a situation for themselves (or a family member), or seeking guidance regarding the process of seeking mental health treatment and navigating systems.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. I use techniques such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioral interventions to create a safe space for my clients to process, reflect, learn, grow, and eventually go on their own. In sessions, you can expect to learn the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. At the same time, you can work toward interrupting the unhelpful patterns you may engage in so you can replace them with strategies that can support the implementation of safe and healthy coping skills. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better." The initial session will provide an opportunity for you to get to know me, my style, and personality and determine whether you would like to move forward with follow up sessions. While the first session is typically covered by insurance benefits, those who are inquiring about supportive services are advised that self-pay is required for services that are not justified with symptoms and a covered mental health diagnosis.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I find the mind-body connection to be especially fascinating and am passionate about educating others on how Adverse Childhood Experiences impact physical and emotional well-being later in life. Formal training in both child and adult trauma models helps me address stress, emotional stability, and physical health concerns.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use CBT and mindfulness to help clients understand patterns, manage emotions, reduce stress, and improve sleep, focus, and overall well-being. Through skill-building and optional between-session practices, I guide clients in a holistic way toward lasting change, emotional balance, and renewed confidence.

Lauren was kind, prepared, and knowledgeable, but I don’t think we were the right fit. I appreciated the structured approach, but the session felt too rigid and lecture-like for me. At times, I felt we were following slides rather than exploring what I was actually saying, and some nuances felt missed. I’m looking for someone who is structured and direct, but also more conversational, flexible, and able to connect with my specific experiences.
