About me

Hello! If you're reading this, thank you for taking the time to get to know me! I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Maryland since 2020. I have had the pleasure of working in vast clinical settings from residential treatment to crisis work, and have enjoyed getting to know people on a deeper level. I'm here to be a presence in your life on the good days and the difficult days. Every person has a story and my goal is to help write yours so that you can be the best version of yourself. In my free time, I'll be reading a good book and snuggling up with my two fur babies.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

When we first meet, my goal is for both of us to get to know one another. It can be intimidating to open up to a stranger, and I find it helpful to remain transparent about myself in an effort to build trust in the therapeutic alliance. During our first meeting, we will review what brought you to this setting, and aspirations in life. From there, I like to learn your strengths, needs, and preferences so that we can develop meaningful goals for our time together. Our sessions go at your pace, and that most certainly includes our first meeting together. Typically, I like for our first session to be between 30-60 minutes so that we have time to explore questions and for you to share things that are most important to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

If you work well with solution focused strategies, tapping into your strengths, and unpacking the barriers that have deeply impacted your life, then I am the therapist for you. Safety is a right in our sessions together, I will treat you with respect and dignity. Sometimes exploring our thoughts and feelings can get uncomfortable. With my approach I like to compassionately explore the barriers that are getting in the way of your best life, and develop tools and skills that will obtain that best self.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Anyone who struggles with depression, anxiety, mood related disorders, acute stress, trauma, or any prevalent life stressors is welcomed. This can include relationship challenges, barriers with a job or career, or feeling like you don't know where you want to be in life. I find that I work well with older adolescents and individuals in their emerging adulthood years. This is not a limited list, only a few examples!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In this modality, we focus on identifying and exploring how are thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are impacting one another. This could include reframing thoughts, exploring rigid thought patterns, acknowledging deeper rooted feelings, and adjusting how we outwardly respond.

Grief Therapy

In this modality we explore both acute and chronic grief, as well as non normative grief. We explore the stages of grief and how to navigate alongside your grief, not just learning to move on.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In this modality we focus on remaining present in the moment, and finding ways to center our-self amidst the chaos of life. This includes grounding and mindfulness skills that can assist with trauma or anxiety.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In this modality we focus on a more direct approach that includes problem solving, exploring what is within our own control, and strategies to utilize during day to day routine.

Supportive

In this modality we focus on the power of active listening, validating, and coping with life stressors.
