I focus on clients who have experienced relational trauma, childhood, adolescent, and adult anxiety, depression, chronic, complex, intergenerational, and transgenerational trauma, and PTSD.
I see counseling as a process in which you, the client, and I, the LCSW-Therapist, having come to understand and trust one another, work as a team to explore and define present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life, and work systematically toward realizing those goals.
First session
Our first session will be an introductory of our services, as well as building rapport and discovering every client's therapeutic goals and needs.
Strengths
My greatest strength as a provider is helping my clients understand and normalize their symptoms, behaviors, and experiences. By better understanding the challenges they may be experiencing, clients can understand and move forward to finding effective solutions to healing and resolve.
Ideal clients
I specialize in trauma-informed care for individuals, couples, and groups. I focus on assisting individuals affected by trauma due to a history of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse and other trauma that may affect current relationships and cause difficulty in everyday living.
Treatment methods
Psychoanalytic
The psychoanalytic approach focuses on deciphering how the unconscious mind governs conscious processes in ways that interfere with healthy psychological functioning. As a trauma-informed therapist, it is important to evaluate the ecological dynamics of a client's life. Many cognitive distortions are subconscious and using the psychoanalytic approach those thoughts and behaviors can be revise.
Christian Counseling
Christian Counseling is available to clients who would like to incorporate biblical principals into their therapeutic approach.
Grief Therapy
Learning to normalize and process the stages of grief is important. Grief in itself can be devastating and traumatizing therefore assisting clients with processing losses that may impact their mental health is important.
Couples Counseling
Within the scope of the population we serve, 30% of our clients are couples. We effectively treat couples and see them heal from personal traumas, that also heal their relationships.
EMDR
EMDR therapy is an effective therapeutic approach that assists clients in healing from the traumatic effects of trauma. This evidence-based framework is one of the treatments we have utilized and have experienced great clientele successes.
