About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Michigan, with over 20 years of experience. I earned my bachelor’s from Kalamazoo College and my master’s from Michigan State University. I support clients facing depression, anxiety, trauma, identity questions, addiction, and life transitions—especially those in moments of change, like young adults entering new phases or older adults seeking a fresh start. I bring humor, directness, and compassion to my practice. I’m here to sit with you in both the joys and discomforts of growth, and I’m honored to witness each step you take toward your goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and to explore what brings you to therapy at this time. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your experiences, your strengths, and what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. I also want to encourage you to ask any questions you may have—starting therapy can feel unfamiliar or even a bit overwhelming, and it’s important that you feel informed and comfortable. I truly appreciate the courage it takes to begin this process and to share personal challenges. I recognize that opening up can feel vulnerable, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and respected.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I don’t see myself as an expert in your life; instead, I believe you have the power within to create change. My role is to help you uncover your own answers and quiet external pressures so you can reconnect with your authentic self.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to work with adults navigating life transitions, stress, relationships, anxiety, depression or self-doubt. My clients tend to be open to self-reflection, ready to explore new perspectives, and motivated to build a more fulfilling, balanced life. They often come in with goals like improving self-esteem, managing their mood, setting healthy boundaries, coping with change, or finding greater purpose and direction.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT techniques designed to help clients identify and challenge negative thoughts, build coping skills, and create lasting change in their daily lives.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my practice, I use acceptance and commitment therapy to help clients make space for difficult emotions, connect with their values, and take steps toward the life they truly want to live.

Motivational Interviewing

I help clients explore their own motivations, resolve ambivalence, and build confidence to make positive changes in their lives.

Eclectic

I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy. I tailor techniques from various models—like CBT, ACT, and others—so each client gets what works best for them.

Strength-Based

I use a strengths-based approach, focusing on each client’s unique strengths and resources. By building on what they do well, we create a foundation for growth, resilience, and lasting change.
