Hello, I’m Lucia Acosta, I’m a bicultural, bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor passionate about helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, stress, and life’s many transitions. My practice offers a warm, supportive space where you can explore your emotions, share your experiences, and feel heard—without judgment. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply unsure of your next step, therapy can help you reconnect with clarity and confidence. My approach is grounded in empathy and guided by evidence-based, trauma-informed practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sandtray, and client-centered therapy. Healing is not a one-size-fits-all journey, and I’m honored to walk alongside you as we work toward meaningful growth and lasting change.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step—here’s what our first session will look like. During our first session, you can expect empathetic and respectful conversations about how you’ve been feeling, your life experiences, and the challenges that brought you to therapy. These discussions will help lay the foundation for our work together, fostering trust and understanding. Together, we’ll set initial goals and decide how to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
My therapeutic approach is its balance of warmth, flexibility, and evidence-based care. I integrate trauma-informed practices with methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Sandtray to meet you where you are—emotionally, culturally, and personally.
I work with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or navigating periods of transition, and are ready—even if a little unsure—to start making meaningful changes in their lives. Many of my clients experience anxiety, chronic stress, past trauma, or relationship challenges that impact their day-to-day functioning, sense of self, or ability to feel connected to others. I support clients who may feel caught in unhelpful patterns of thinking or behavior. You might find yourself overthinking, struggling with self-doubt, feeling emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to move forward despite wanting things to be different. Some clients come in with clear goals, while others simply know that something doesn’t feel right and want help understanding why. In our work together, we focus on building awareness, developing practical coping tools, and creating lasting change. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused techniques to help you better understand your thoughts, regulate emotions, and take steps toward the life you want. If you're looking for a collaborative, supportive space where you can explore challenges, build resilience, and feel more in control of your life, we may be a great fit.
