Welcome! I'm Michelle and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of mental health challenges. I’m passionate about helping clients better understand themselves, build effective coping skills, and feel more confident in managing life’s difficulties. My background includes work in both partial hospital and outpatient settings with a diverse range of clients and diagnoses. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable showing up as their full selves. My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and tailored to each client’s unique needs, drawing from modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and heard. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brings you to therapy, and exploring what you hope to gain from the process. I know starting therapy can feel intimidating, so I aim to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment from the very beginning. We’ll go at a pace that feels manageable for you, and I’ll also answer any questions you may have about therapy, my approach, or what working together might look like.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to build strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, authenticity, and compassion. I value creating a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves. I take a collaborative approach and believe clients are the experts on their own lives, while I help guide and support the process. I also value flexibility in treatment and draw from different approaches depending on each client’s goals and needs. When appropriate, I incorporate humor and self-disclosure to help clients feel more at ease and connected in the therapeutic relationship.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is an adolescent or adult who is feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from their sense of self. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma or PTSD, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, and are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful, lasting change. I work best with clients who are motivated for growth—even if they’re unsure where to start—and are open to self-exploration, building insight, and developing new coping skills. They don’t have to have it all figured out, but they’re willing to show up, be honest, and do the work. Many of my clients are exploring identity, processing past experiences, and working toward greater confidence, emotional awareness, and healthier relationships. They are looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can feel understood and empowered to move forward in a way that feels aligned with who they are.

Person-centered (Rogerian)
Since graduate school, I have approached each session and client with this method. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship from the beginning, having mutual trust and respect. Clients play an active role in their treatment and it is crucial that they implement the coping skills and methods they learn on a daily basis in order to see long-lasting, effective changes.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT as a way to help regulate emotions, accept unwanted or difficult emotions and experiences, and stay present in the moment without jumping to conclusions or judging oneself for negative thoughts/feelings.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients with negative or unhelpful thoughts and beliefs see alternative perspectives that may change their thought patterns in a positive way. We also use CBT to gently challenge these thoughts or emotions as appropriate to ensure we are seeing all angles of a perceived issue and help the client gather data to support or debunk the belief or thought they are having.
