Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session my aim is to have the client feel comfortable and heard. Within the first session my goal is to slowly gain information and history about the client. I am wanting to learn more about the client and their reasons for seeking support. The first session lends to start to learn what the relationship between myself and the client may look like moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As someone with a variety of clinical experiences, I aim to understand the person within the systems they manage. Adopting a multicultural approach helps in gaining insight into the way a person's identities impact them and the way they view the world. Having been trained in both performance and clinical psychology, I am able to support individuals within different realms of their lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who approaches therapy with a sense of curiosity, patience, and a willingness to be vulnerable. This client is ready to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in an honest and introspective way. With a strong commitment to self-growth, they understand that healing takes time and are open to reflecting on their past while embracing new perspectives. This kind of client values authenticity, and their openness fosters a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship, where meaningful change can unfold.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have adopted Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) within my scope of work for a handful of years. By adopting ACT, I help clients build psychological flexibility by embracing their thoughts and emotions without judgment. I encourage clients to accept uncomfortable feelings while committing to values-driven actions, promoting personal growth and resilience. This approach empowers individuals to face challenges with greater acceptance, fostering long-term well-being and positive change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a provider, I have adopted Cognitive Behavior Therapy since the start of my training. CBT helps clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute negatively to well-being. Through a variety of techniques, I help clients reframe thinking patterns and beliefs, while also empowering clients to adopt positive behavioral changes. I am a major proponent of CBT as it helps client manage their emotions and behavior to foster improve well-being and resilience.
