I have over 11 years of experience helping adults and am licensed in Washington (LMHC), Illinois (LCPC), and Wisconsin (LPC). Additionally, I hold a Rehabilitation Counseling Certification (CRC). I work with clients facing mental health issues or challenging life experiences, including trauma, substance use, negative thoughts and emotions, and relationship difficulties. I was born and raised in Taiwan and have lived in the United States for 27 years. I am very empathetic and have extensive life experience. I can provide counseling in English or Mandarin. My doctoral degree is in mental health counseling. I do not prescribe medication.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Please consent to treatment before our first session. Please share your story first; then we'll work together and move forward in whatever way you are comfortable with. There is no judgment; things happen; we just need to move on. You will receive professional help.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I use a combination of techniques to meet your clinical needs. I believe result and cause are co-existing and there is a within self leadership. The best way is to treat root and understand the context, and determine what is the best for you. I use combinations of CBT, IFS, DBT and mindfulness to help you develop your own coping skills. I am not a " directive" counselor but professional helper. I am very multi-culture orientated person and respect different groups.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who puts in the effort to achieve meaningful goals with my help. It's time to start a new chapter. I will provide a safe place where you can unfold gradually. We cannot fix the past, but you can choose how to move on with my help. My goal is to help you improve your quality of life and mental health. I specialize in areas of anxiety, depression, mental illnesses, trauma, life transitions, and unemployment.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS fits with my personal beliefs. I am a Buddhist, and I believe everyone is good. No emotions or feelings are bad; we feel and do what we do because we want to protect ourselves. We have different feelings and emotions; sometimes they combine, and we struggle to get past that point. Self-love and internal communication are good ways to support your mental health. I also use CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Basically, I use what works for you and what you are comfortable with.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Identify a negative or distorted thought, challenge , and replace with a more healthy though will significantly improve mental health.
