My name is Luis D Moreno, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment to help you explore your personal concerns and achieve your therapeutic goals. My attraction to a career as a therapist stems from decades of working with multicultural individuals and families, as well as the LGBTQ community. This experience has given me valuable insights into the diverse challenges people face and the transformative impact of good therapy. I am driven by a commitment to fostering self-exploration and personal growth in my clients, as I believe that this journey leads to greater wisdom and fulfillment. I find great satisfaction in preparing clients for this process and witnessing the profound benefits of therapy as they navigate their unique paths to healing and empowerment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first therapy session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where we will explore their purpose for seeking therapy. I take time to understand their unique needs and goals, ensuring we establish a strong therapeutic fit. We will discuss expectations for our work together, including what clients hope to achieve, and outline how we can collaboratively navigate their journey toward personal growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, empathetic, and client-centered. I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their concerns. I tailor my methods to meet the unique needs of each individual, drawing on a range of evidence-based practices to promote healing and growth. The theoretical approaches I most commonly employ include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients identify and shift negative thought patterns, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, which fosters presence and self-awareness. I also integrate Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients build on their strengths and work toward practical, goal-oriented outcomes. For those exploring deeper existential concerns or life transitions, I draw on Existential Therapy, which emphasizes individual freedom, personal responsibility, and the search for meaning. This approach is particularly effective for clients grappling with major life changes, loss, or feelings of unfulfillment, and encourages profound reflection on personal values and purpose.

I strive to create a safe, inclusive environment that supports individuals in exploring their personal and therapeutic goals. I also have experience working with couples, help navigate issues with communication, infidelity and betrayal.
