About me

Hi, my name is Jamie. You may be wondering how therapy can help, whether it can make a difference, or if there is a path forward from where you are right now. These are very common and understandable questions. I want to offer encouragement and hope—not as a promise of quick answers, but as an assurance that growth and healing are possible. Over 30 years ago, I began my own therapeutic journey, first with a pastoral counselor and later with a licensed therapist. That experience shaped my belief in therapy as a powerful tool for healing, insight, and meaningful change. My priority is to create a warm, compassionate, and emotionally safe space for you to explore the hard things in life—things that may have happened to you, and sometimes things you wish had gone differently. Therapy can be a place to get unstuck, reduce overwhelm, and work toward greater well-being. We will collaborate on goals that matter to you and use practical, tools in navigating anxiety, depression, and life’s challenges. My work is informed by contemporary psychodynamic theory, attachment research, and other evidence-based approaches. I practice from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective integrating cognitive and behavioral strategies when helpful. I come from a Christian worldview, and I strive to approach therapy with respect, humility, and sensitivity to each client’s values and beliefs. Together, we may work to reduce distress, increase self-awareness, build coping and regulation skills, support meaningful behavior change, and foster growth that goes beyond symptom relief. Decades of research show that healing and change occur through supportive relationships, increased understanding, and practices that build resilience. Therapy can be a catalyst for that process.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I work best with adults who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, or a sense of feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware individuals who may be high-functioning on the outside but carrying a great deal internally. Some are navigating caregiving roles, parenting challenges, grief and loss, or major changes in identity, work, or relationships. My ideal clients are open to self-reflection and curious about understanding their emotional patterns, even if they are unsure where to begin. They do not need to have clear goals when starting therapy—just a willingness to show up and engage in the process. I am especially well suited to work with individuals who want a supportive, collaborative approach that balances emotional processing with practical tools. I am also comfortable working with clients facing serious or complex life experiences, including medical challenges, end-of-life concerns, and long-term stress. Whether you are looking for symptom relief, greater emotional clarity, or deeper personal growth, therapy can be a place to move forward at a pace that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to create a calm, compassionate, and emotionally safe space, and my comfort sitting with difficult or complex experiences. I bring a steady, grounded presence to sessions and work with clients to help them make sense of their thoughts, emotions, and patterns. I balance warmth with thoughtful structure, integrating emotional processing with practical, evidence-based tools. Clients often appreciate my ability to listen deeply, ask meaningful questions, and help them move forward at a pace that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My early training emphasized Person-Centered therapy (Carl Rogers), and this approach has underpinned my work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the past 17 years. I use a person-centered foundation in all of my clinical work, prioritizing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and respect for client autonomy. I take a non-pathologizing, strengths-based approach and believe that people have an innate capacity for growth and healing when they feel understood, supported, and safe within the therapeutic relationship.

Relational

My work is also informed by a relational approach, which emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship as a central part of the healing process. I attend closely to patterns of connection, attachment, and emotional responsiveness, and work collaboratively with clients to understand how relational experiences shape their sense of self and their relationships with others. I use the therapeutic relationship as a safe, attuned space to support insight, emotional awareness, and more satisfying ways of relating, while maintaining clear boundaries and a strong focus on the client’s goals.
