I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Capella University and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Alfred Adler Institute of Chicago. I was born in Havana, Cuba and I can do psychotherapy in both English and Spanish. I have worked with college age students, women who are struggling to balance family and career, couples counseling and the elderly.
Hi, I am a bilingual therapist fluent in both English and Spanish, and I am so glad you are here. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, major life transitions, or simply feeling like something is off, I am here to help. I work with a wide range of individuals including college students, women balancing the demands of family and career, and older adults navigating the unique challenges that come with later stages of life.
I bring a warm, collaborative, and culturally sensitive approach to every session. Having been born in Havana, Cuba and having lived and worked across different communities, I understand firsthand how much culture, background, and lived experience shape who we are and how we navigate the world. That understanding informs everything I do in my practice. Sessions with me are a space where you can feel truly heard and understood, in whichever language feels most natural to you. I meet you exactly where you are and we work together at a pace that feels right for you toward the changes that matter most. If you are ready to take that first step I would love to connect with you.
I am interested in helping individual clients and couples. One of my specialties is Geriatrics, as I worked with elders (65 and above), helping them with depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues. I have also worked with college age clients who are trying to determine career goals and couples counseling. Women's issues is another area where I have worked, especially women who are trying to balance career and family life.

I have been using CBT in my practice for the past thirty five years. It has helped dozens of clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. I will use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. I will then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a more relaxed and less stressful life.
It focuses on overcoming feelings of inferiority, fostering social interest, and developing a healthier "style of life" to achieve belonging and community contribution. It is positive and encouragement-based.
