(she/her)
My name is Monique Castillo and I welcome you. I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New Jersey. I have over five years of experience in the social work field and am committed to creating a safe space for my clients to speak freely and be themselves. I support my clients in an unbiased form and look to improve day-to-day functioning by assisting with decreasing the use of unhealthy coping strategies.
As a first generation Latinx woman, I acknowledge the stigmas surrounding mental health that often lead to shame, silence, and avoidance. I recognize that connecting with individuals of diverse cultures is vital for promoting optimal well-being. I am committed to demonstrating cultural sensitivity to ensure my clients have a supportive and secure space to explore their uniquely lived experiences.
Clients are the experts of their own lives and I acknowledge that each person has their own set of unique strengths. I believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, valued and healed. I am passionate about helping and advocating for individuals who are marginalized, underrepresented and those whose voices are unheard.
I have a strong interest in bringing awareness and implementing evidence-based interventions to address topics related to the inner critic, imposter syndrome, body image, negative self-talk, life transitions, generational trauma, and self-esteem.
