About me

Hi there, I am Belma Johnson. I am an LICSW with over 20 years experience working with adolescents in various settings, including in the school system. I am kind, genuine, relatable, and funny. I utilize the elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, so in plain words, I help young people identify negative thoughts and behaviors that might be causing them some emotional stress. I work with my clients on finding coping mechanisms that they can put in their own coping skills toolbox that can help in the school or family setting.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will work as a team to find what challenges brought you to seek the help necessary for you to move forward with your life in the way you envision it to be, not just years down the road, but for today, tomorrow, and yes years down the road. Right off the bat you will take with you a sense of what the initial goal(s) are and what actions you can take right now. It will be a work in progress and our plan will be flexible and a work in progress as we get to know one another, and what works.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is real and genuine. We, as a team, start where you are at and what is best for you at this moment. The process is holistic and changes day by day depending on where you are at. It's talk therapy with concrete actions to achieve what your goals are for therapy. Results are from where you start and a feeling of a much better you in the end. Practice makes better and that's what I hope for each of my clients that practice of the skills to make life a bit better. Positive Psychology is an important method I will use as it warrants it in certain situations.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Welcome! I am Belma Johnson. Let me start by saying I am proud of you for taking this step into bettering yourself whether it be by your own decision making or someone close to you giving that little nudge forward, it's a great first step! Working with adolescents is my passion and I have many years of experience helping young people through Anxiety/Depression and the various stressors of life and school. I specifically enjoy helping young people navigate their goals and challenges around the future. We all have our own unique lived experience and that's what I'm here to do, break that all down and find ways that work specifically for you and not other people.
