Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck? You don't have to navigate it alone. I'm Henry Smith, LICSW, a licensed therapist specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, and crisis intervention. I provide compassionate, evidence-based virtual therapy for adults, helping clients better understand themselves, develop effective coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and build resilience. Together, we'll create a personalized path toward healing, growth, and lasting emotional well-being.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to feel a little nervous. My goal is to make our first session feel comfortable, supportive, and free of judgment. We'll spend time getting to know each other and talking about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're facing, and what you hope to achieve. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, relationships, and the areas of your life you'd like to improve. Together, we'll identify your goals and begin developing a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs. I'll also explain my approach to therapy, answer any questions you have, and make sure you know what to expect moving forward. You don't have to have everything figured out before our first meeting. Just come as you are. My hope is that you'll leave feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of direction and hope for what's ahead.
I believe therapy should be more than a place to talk, it should be a place where you gain insight, develop practical skills, and create meaningful change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented, while always moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you. With experience in outpatient therapy, behavioral health crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care, I've worked with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. These experiences have taught me that every person's story is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I draw from evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), to help clients better understand their thoughts and emotions, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and build lasting resilience. Rather than simply managing symptoms, we work together to identify the patterns keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies that support long-term growth. Clients often describe me as calm, genuine, and easy to talk to. I strive to create an environment where you feel heard, respected, and challenged in ways that promote confidence, self-awareness, and lasting change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, or a difficult life transition, my goal is to help you move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and hope. I’m trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approaches that help clients find clarity, balance, and renewed confidence. My clients often describe me as calm, grounding, and encouraging. I blend warmth with practical tools that foster resilience, emotional awareness, and meaningful change. Whether you’re working through trauma, relationship struggles, or life transitions, I’m here to help you rediscover your strength and create the lasting peace you deserve.
My ideal clients are individuals, couples, and families who are ready to heal, grow, and move toward meaningful change. Many of the people I work with are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or major life transitions that have left them feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of where to turn next. Some are looking to rebuild trust and communication in their relationships, while others are working to rediscover their confidence and sense of peace. I work especially well with clients who are motivated to better understand themselves and willing to take small, intentional steps toward personal growth. You don’t need to have it all figured out—you just need to be open to exploring, learning, and building new tools for resilience. Whether you’re seeking healing from past pain, stronger relationships, or a more balanced life, I’ll meet you where you are with compassion, understanding, and practical guidance. Together, we’ll create a path forward that helps you feel grounded, capable, and empowered to thrive.

I use Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help you move from feeling stuck to building real, lasting change. Together, we’ll focus on your strengths, what’s already working, and the small steps that can make a big difference. My goal is to help you recognize your own resilience, set meaningful goals, and create practical solutions that fit your life. SFBT empowers you to move forward with confidence and hope—because even small shifts can lead to powerful growth.
I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns and replace them with healthier, more empowering ways of thinking and coping. My approach is collaborative and practical—you’ll gain tools you can use every day to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and improve your overall well-being. CBT helps you take control of your story and create lasting, positive change.
My strength-based approach focuses on what’s right with you—not just what’s wrong. We’ll identify your inner strengths, values, and past successes to help you face challenges with confidence. I believe every person has the capacity for growth and resilience, even in difficult seasons. By focusing on your abilities and potential, we’ll work together to build hope, restore balance, and empower you to create lasting, positive change in your life.
My trauma-informed approach creates a safe, supportive space for healing at your own pace. I understand how past experiences can shape how you think, feel, and relate to others. Together, we focus on safety, trust, and empowerment while building resilience and self-compassion. My goal is to help you reconnect with your sense of strength and hope, transforming survival into growth and confidence.

I really don’t need to get stuck validating myself, I just need actionable devices to break myself out of negative cycles of thinking. He’s helped me with that quickly and authentically.
