New to Grow
We all make sense of the world a little differently, and my practice helps clients pay attention to their true feelings. This is especially valuable for those who feel they have been silenced, and/or have gotten used to silencing themselves. I draw on life and clinical experience, as well as diverse cultural references, to help illuminate the problems that bring you to therapy. Reducing shame, offering information and reframing will bring you to a place of greater clarity and natural progress.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I will get to know a bit about your background and current needs. We will start to build a rapport and understanding of what you would like to work on in therapy. Towards the end we will discuss scheduling, confidentiality, etc.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
With a background in family therapy and outpatient therapy in both private practice and community mental health, I have the range and experience to support most clients. I often use narrative therapy as a base. Grief, divorce and other turning points, and and difficult family dynamics are particular strengths in my practice.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Generational trauma: clients who are suffering grief, or feel like a black sheep within a dysfunctional family dynamic. Life transitions: feeling confused, out of place, or lacking confidence for a desired change. Spirituality: clients who are exploring, who have religious trauma, or are navigating interfaith dynamics. Feminist issues: women whose lives seem to be about everyone around them or who have disproportional burdens of care.
Trauma Informed Care
Extensive experience treating trauma in all ages, empowering and self-reflective stance.
