About me

I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and an entrepreneur. I own two small businesses outside of my counseling work. I enjoy being outdoors (unless it's too cold!), spending time with my kids, and reading. I am the chair of my local Commission on Aging and of our Dementia Friendly Action Team. I am looking forward to meeting you!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I will focused on getting to know you. Everyone comes to the table with strengths, skills, opinions, and goals. I look forward to learning about yours as we build a plan together that moves you toward a more fulfilling life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I focus on a blend of individualized care and psychoeducation in my work. Helping others to understand the details of their situation ensures that we are building a plan that fits for them and their life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is a care partner of older adults, particularly those living with dementia. I also enjoy working with people living with early stage dementia as they navigate learning to LIVE WELL with the diagnosis. I am open to working with people individually or in a family / couples setting.

My treatment methods

Interpersonal

Most challenges in well-being can be boiled down to our relationships with others. I frequently return to approaches, assumptions, and connections with others when exploring personal trials. Our connection or lack thereof colors our approach to the world and our view of ourselves. Understanding these relationships helps us understand ourselves and, when necessary change the way in which we interact with and view others.

Psychoeducation

Helping families/clients to understand a diagnosis is the basis for being able to manage symptoms. Combining traditional talk therapy with supportive education can provide both immediate practical support and on-going insight about oneself.
