My name is Cha Peterson, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, and challenges with emotions like anger and feeling overwhelmed. I take a person-centered and practical approach, blending understanding with tools you can use in your day-to-day life. My goal is to create a space you feel heard, respected, and supported-while also helping you build skills to move forward with confidence. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you don't have to have everything figured out to begin. We'll work together at your pace to understand what's going on and what meaningful changes looks like for you.
Your first session is a relaxed, no pressure conversation focused on getting to know you. We'll talk about brought you to therapy, what you've been experiencing, and what you'd like to get out of our work together. I may ask some questions to better understand your background, but there's no expectation to share everything all at once. We'll also begin to identify goals and discuss what future sessions might look like. By the end, you will have a clearer sense of how I work and whether it feels like a good fit for you.
My approach focuses on helping you feel supported while also making real, meaningful change. Sessions are personalized and client-led meaning you have control over the pace and direction of therapy. I work with you to identify your strengths, build motivation, and create practical strategies you can use outside of sessions. I specialize in supporting you with goals for managing anxiety, improving communication, or navigating life transitions, helping you feel more confident and in control.
I work best with individuals who are navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, and challenges with emotions such as anger and feeling overwhelmed. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck, overthinking, or unsure how to move forward. I support children, teens, and adults who are looking to better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop practical tools to manage daily challenges. If you are open to growth and ready to make meaningful changes, we can work together to help you feel more in control and supported.

I also incorporate Cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful change in your daily life.

Cha is great! She is calm, understanding, and clear. I've struggled with being consistent with therapy in the past as it has often felt fragmented or random. Therapy with Cha feels personal, and individualized. One of the things I value most about working with Cha is her ability to reflect back what I’m thinking—it helps me see my own thoughts more clearly. Working with her the past 3 months I have seen consistent progress as the therapy feels consistent and linear. Thanks Cha!

At first I had a bad experience with a growtherapy provider but then I found Cha, and she made me feel that growtherapy is a legit and professional therapy site that has great therapists and this far she is fantastic and I look forward to having more sessions with her. She is very easy going, intelligent, empowering, solution-oriented, funny, and she listen very intentionally.
