I spent my early childhood in Jamaica before settling in Southern California. My experiences moving between cultures helped shape my appreciation for the many ways people make sense of themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Creative Writing from the University of California, Riverside, and my Master's in Social Work from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, where I specialized in Health and Mental Health Across the Life Span. I have extensive experience working with people of color and LGBTQ+ clients who have struggled to find spaces where they feel safe, understood, and accepted. I also enjoy working with creative and artistic individuals who are looking to overcome self-doubt, navigate creative blocks, and reconnect with their creative potential. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and insight-oriented. Together, we'll explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that shape your life while building a deeper understanding of all parts of yourself, including the parts that may feel difficult to accept. Outside of therapy, I enjoy singing karaoke and immersing myself in stories of all kinds, whether through books, television, film, or video games.
Our first session is a space to slow down, get to know each other, and start naming what you’re carrying, without pressure to “have it all figured out.” I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and help track the themes and protective patterns you might not fully see yet. Therapy with me is adaptive. Some sessions are spacious and reflective, others more focused and goal-oriented, depending on what you need. I won’t push you before you’re ready, but I will challenge you when it counts.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to balance compassion with curiosity. I strive to create a space where clients feel accepted as they are while also helping them explore the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be keeping them stuck. My experiences navigating different cultures, identities, and life transitions have deepened my appreciation for the complexity of people's stories. I know that growth rarely happens through judgment or shame. Instead, meaningful change often begins when we can understand ourselves more fully and honestly. In session, I tend to be collaborative and engaged. There are times when simply being heard is what someone needs most, and there are also times when a gentle challenge can help bring new awareness and perspective. I aim to adapt my approach to each client's needs while maintaining a genuine, authentic therapeutic relationship. Clients often appreciate my ability to help connect the dots between their emotions, relationships, and recurring life patterns in ways that foster greater self-understanding and self-compassion.

She was a great listener, and I immediately felt unjudged and safe to simply open up. This is a rare quality.
