About me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in California, Texas, and Virginia. I have over a decade of experience working with a diverse population of individuals. I have worked in community mental health, public schools, corrections facilities, hospitals, and as an EAP provider. I am most passionate about working with the younger generation as I feel like that is where the most change and progress can be made. I would love to be a positive influence on the next generation. As a second-generation Iranian American, I understand the feeling of being caught between cultures. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow. My approach is warm, empathic, and solution-focused.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, I will be getting to know the client by asking them a series of questions to learn more about their background and history and to build the therapist-client relationship.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to be warm and empathetic. I am able to build rapport rather quickly with my clients and have been told by some that I am "relatable." I use humor to keep things light during session which allows the client's to feel more comfortable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I primarily work with adolescents, teenagers, and young adults. I specialize in stress management, life transitions, academic/peer issues, family/relationship issues, self-esteem, communication, and cultural issues. I also speak Farsi (Persian).

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have been using solution focused therapy for years with my clients and have found it to be effective, because we focus on identifying the problem, setting goals, and setting a timeline that the goals will be reached. This is usually in 6-10 sessions. We focus heavily on learning, practicing, and applying coping skills outside of session to help expedite the process of healing and growing.
