Many people come to therapy carrying pain that isn’t visible to others. You might be functioning day to day while feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why things feel “off.” If you’re navigating the impact of trauma, grief, or complicated relationships, you don’t have to sort through it alone. I’m a licensed clinical social worker with eight years of experience in inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, including my work at a VA medical center. I support adults facing mental health or substance use concerns, stress, trauma, and major life transitions. My hope is that therapy feels like a safe place where you can move at your own pace, feel understood, and build skills that help you feel more regulated and capable.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session will be welcoming and informative. I’ll walk you through the guidelines for therapy, answer any questions you have, and gather the background that helps me understand what brings you in today. We’ll talk about what you’re hoping for, what feels most important right now, and what feels manageable.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths include a trauma‑informed approach, helping people understand their patterns, and a focus on building skills that support regulation and a greater sense of capability. I offer clarity, structure, and a space where you don’t have to perform or over‑explain. I’m committed to evidence‑based practices and use them in a realistic way to support the changes that matter to you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults who are navigating significant life changes and carrying symptoms of depression, anxiety, or the effects of past trauma. This includes people who are trying to understand long‑standing patterns, strengthen their boundaries, or communicate in ways that feel healthier and more direct. They’re looking for a reliable, safe space where they can make sense of what they’re experiencing and build skills that help them feel more grounded and more capable in their day‑to‑day lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My approach is direct and practical: in session, we look at real examples from your daily life so we can identify what’s happening and why.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT in my practice focuses on helping you understand and regulate intense emotional reactions. We work together to identify what triggers those reactions, how your thoughts and body respond, and what patterns are keeping you stuck. This process supports you in building emotional regulation skills, decreasing reactivity, and responding in ways that feel more intentional.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their readiness for change and understand what feels possible right now. In our sessions, we look at the behaviors you’re thinking about changing, what’s motivating you, and what might be getting in the way.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I use Cognitive Processing Therapy to help clients understand how trauma has shaped their beliefs about themselves, others, and the world. My approach is collaborative and focused on creating clarity around the thoughts that keep you feeling stuck or unsafe. In our sessions, we explore the meanings you’ve had to make in order to survive and identify where those beliefs may no longer fit your current life. We work together to challenge patterns that create guilt, shame, or self‑blame, and to develop more balanced ways of understanding your experiences.
