About me

Welcome to my profile! I am a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a deep commitment to client-centered care. With over a decade of dedicated service in the VA system, as well as over 30 years of work in mental health and child welfare, I offer a steady, trauma-informed perspective for individuals navigating life's complexities. My practice is built on a foundation of experience and deep listening, providing a safe, calm environment where you can work toward your goals at a pace that feels right for you. I use evidence based treatment for conditions such as PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, including CBT for Insomnia, CBT for depression, CPT for PTSD, as well as talk therapy, all to help address your concerns.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my primary goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and pressure-free space for us to meet. We will take things at your pace. We will talk about what brings you in, what you are hoping to get out of therapy, and any questions you might have about how we can work together. There is no expectation to share your entire story right away; our first meeting is simply about getting acquainted, seeing if we are a good fit, and deciding together on the best path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths as a therapist lie in providing a calm, steady, and deeply validating presence, especially when navigating complex or painful life experiences. With an extensive background in trauma-informed care, I bring a structured yet flexible approach that honors your unique pace. I am skilled at helping clients untangle overwhelming patterns, make sense of difficult histories, and find practical ways to reclaim their lives - all within an atmosphere of genuine collaboration and respect.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is motivated to understand themselves better and is looking for a collaborative, non-judgmental space to navigate life's challenges. Whether you are dealing with the lingering impacts of trauma, chronic stress, or difficult life transitions, you don't need to have it all figured out before we start. I work best with individuals who are ready to take things at their own pace, curious about their own patterns, and looking for a steady partner to help them find a path forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a structured, evidence based approach designed to help you process traumatic events. Together, we look at how trauma has shaped the way you view yourself, others, and world, often leaving you behind unhelpful "stuck points". CPT provides compassionate, step-by-step framework to gently examine these thoughts, challenge them, and help you reframe your trauma that helps you move forward with renewed freedom and perspective.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy provides a supportive, compassionate space to navigate the complex and often overwhelming experience of loss - whether you are mourning the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a major life transition, or another profound change. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and there is no timeline to follow. Together, we will honor your unique experience, gently process the pain, and find sustainable ways to carry your loss while rebuilding a meaningful life at your own pace.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic psychotherapy invites you to explore the deeper patterns, past experiences, and unconscious beliefs that shape how you navigate your life, relationships, and emotions today. Rather than just focusing on immediate symptom relief, we work together to understand the why behind your reactions and emotional pain. By bringing these underlying dynamics into gentle awareness, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, break free from repeating cycles, and create more intentional, fulfilling ways of living.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

My training and experience treating Insomnia began during my over 10 years working with veterans at the VA. CBT-I is a structured treatment for chronic sleep problems. It typically takes 6 to 8 sessions to retrain your brain, fix unhelpful sleep habits, and change negative thoughts about rest. A good candidate for CBT-I is an adult suffering from chronic insomnia - difficulty falling or staying aleep at least three nights a week for three months or longer. It is highly effective for those seeking a long-term, non-drug solution to improve sleep habits and reduce anxiety around sleep. CBT-I is considered a first line of treatment for chronic insomnia.
