In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, I will work to gain an understanding of the issues you are bringing to therapy and what you hope to gain from the experience. I will inquire into your broader life experience and you will have the opportunity to ask about my background, experience, and approach to psychotherapy. Together we will decide on the treatment goals we will work on in future sessions.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
My primary approach to treatment is humanistic/existential. Additionally I blend elements of dialectical behavior therapy, narrative therapy, and solution focused therapy into my work. My approach is highly strengths-based and empathic as well as holistic. I encourage you to bring your whole self - mind, body, and spirit - into therapy. I incorporate mindfulness techniques and self-expression into therapy sessions.
