Hi, my name is Shawntae Stevenson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and Arizona. I help women and professionals navigate life transitions—like new motherhood, career changes, and role adjustments—with clarity and confidence. Using practical tools, evidence-based strategies, and personalized support, I empower clients to reduce stress, set healthy boundaries, and achieve personal and professional growth. I create a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, reduce overwhelm, and discover practical ways to set boundaries, manage stress, and thrive personally and professionally. Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and understand your goals. You’ll share what brings you here, and I’ll ask questions to learn about your experiences and priorities. Together, we’ll create a plan tailored to your needs, and I’ll provide practical tools and strategies to start making progress. You’ll leave the session feeling heard, supported, and clear on next steps.
My approach to therapy really focuses on your thoughts and how your thoughts significantly impact your behaviors (good & bad). The goal is to help you avoid self-defeating beliefs and ultimately experience a more positive sense of well-being. I also like to focus on tasks and think of concrete actions that can be done to help create changes.
My clients are typically experiencing depression (single-episode, recurrent, or dysthymia), anxiety, adjustment disorders, and concerns in their family planning stages (infertility, death, postpartum depression, etc). My usual clients are usually 18 years old and older. They are of different ethnicities, professions, and personal beliefs.
