(she/her)
Hi, I'm Casandra, and I'm glad you are here! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with a master's degree from the University of Southern California. I decided to become a therapist because I love being able to help others. One of my favorite things is getting to know others and helping them to discover (or re-discover) who they are. Getting to help others realize their potential and overall improve their mental and emotional well-being is something I enjoy doing and consider it such a privilege.
In our first session, I will be asking, what can feel like an overwhelming number of questions, but this is to help me establish a better understanding of what led you to seek out therapy. This is the first time we can establish what issues might be occurring, and identify goals you are wanting to work on. This session allows me to understand what the following sessions will look like, in terms of the goals you have identified. This is the place where we start to establish a therapeutic relationship, to help you feel safe/comfortable, sharing what led you to therapy.
I have found that my style has worked well with adults who are 18 and older, who may be facing life changes or challenges. During these life changes, many often experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, or stress. My goal in working with you is to identify coping skills that can help to make these changes less challenging and to provide you with tools to help you be more successful in meeting your goals.
I work best with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, depressed and stuck. Not only can we work together to identify ways to help reduce some of these feelings, but we can also work on identifying patterns that lead to similar behaviors that got you to this point. I'll help you to gain insight into what causes these feelings, and help you identify ways to work on reducing how often you experience these feelings.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I’ve been using CBT in my practice since I've started. It’s helped a lot of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and to better manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. With this insight, you will be able to better manage and reduce symptoms of anxiety and stress.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
We will work together to find solutions to issues that you are currently experiencing.
Supportive
It's important for me to meet a client where they are at, and to help work through what they are currently going through.
Interpersonal
It's important to learn how our interpersonal relationships impact us, and we can focus on how to improve those relationships, to help alleviate some stressors.
