About me

Hi, my name is Julie. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Art Therapist based in Los Angeles , CA., where I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, supporting you through talking, art making, somatic experiencing, breath work, and mindfulness. Your therapeutic process will be a unique reflection of who you are and what your goals for therapy are.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will be about building a connection. We will talk about what brings you in to therapy, the challenges you are facing, and what your therapeutic goals are so that I can begin to create a plan the reflects your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a warm and conversational tone to my sessions. My intention is to create a safe space through compassion, understanding, and acceptance. I'm also able to offer different ways to explore, one of which is through art making, if that is something you are interested in. You do not have to be an artist to do art therapy, just a little curiosity.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults and teens individually, couples, and families. My focus is anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, sexual trauma, addiction, codependency, relationship issues, phase of life issues, and low self esteem.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I strive to create a safe environment where the client is comfortable in exploring their thoughts and feelings.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT as a way to highlight and re-frame maladaptive thoughts that may be interfering with personal growth.

Mind-body approach

A Mind-Body approach to therapy is the basis of my philosophy on how change occurs. I believe that the body holds feelings and inner truths which can be accessed through talk, breath work, mindfulness and movement. Combined with exploring distorted beliefs on a cognitive level, a deeper understanding of oneself can be consciously experienced.

I had a great session with Julie. I loved her temperament. She understood my issues and concerns. She had great insight and suggestions. She listened and was considerate. I am going to book another session with her. Thank you.

I like Julie a lot! I tend to speak in large sums of information due to feeling the context matters or a tangent should be considered. Despite this, she is a good active listener and can recall a lot. I really appreciate this as I feel acknowledged. I do wish there was a little more prep going into our sessions. I feel she's great when we're in the session, but feels like she's just waiting for me to bring up a topic to talk about for the day. There's not really follow up on initiatives.
