About
I have been working in a rural community, providing behavioral health services to youth, families and adults for the past 9 years and working under Independent Licensure since 2023.I have a passion for helping people improve their lives, relationships and their sense of self. I have experience treating anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem, life challenges, past trauma, and relationships. I have a passion for being outdoors, enjoying camping, off-roading, boating, motorsports and going to the Rodeo. When I am not serving clients, I am playing with my dogs, spending time with close friends and family and cooking up a delicious meal (from a recipe that I probably found on Pinterest).
First session
In our first session, we will build rapport in getting to know each other, discuss the challenges you are facing and want to work on during our time together. With this time, we will collaborate in building a service plan with individualized goals and objectives so you can begin working towards your goals. In order for me to be an effective support for you, it is important I learn about you and understand outcomes that are meaningful to you. My goal is to support you in making goal-directed, valuable, and purposeful decisions for your life. Expect for me to support you in continuing on your journey based on decisions you make that are best for you. My aim is to be your advocate and supporter without the interference of judgement, advice, or my personal opinion.
Strengths
I continue to develop therapeutic skills and tools to share with others, focusing on presenting issues and increasing understanding and tolerance of the impact of trauma. I will share these with you and support you in becoming the best version of yourself. I will support you in identifying and challenging irrational thoughts which often lead to destructive behaviors. Together, we will be able to identify root causes of problems and individualize a plan to support you in overcoming obstacles. I value the role that candor and honesty play in the therapeutic relationship. You can expect that from me, and I hope to receive it in return.
Ideal clients
I work best with adults who feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and difficulties in relationship. Regardless of their range of understanding of their symptoms, I know we are a good fit when there is an openness to learning new skills, accepting feedback and reflection, and increase self-awareness. I enjoy working with clients who feel misunderstood or 'too much,' exhausted by trauma responses, and want to become more self-aware. I use a warm, genuine, relational, trauma-informed approach that helps clients feel heard and safe enough to grow.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have spent my career focusing on utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support clients in increasing self-awareness and understanding of how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact, often increasing distress in already stressful situations. I have been successful in utilizing CBT to support clients in managing situations ranging from routine stressors to traumatic events.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Focusing on strengths, past successes, and present solutions supports clients in achieving success in managing challenges within relationships and achieving their goals. Used in conjunction with CBT, clients are empowered to engage in goal-focused behaviors and sustain their change.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I have learned the therapeutic value of focusing on parts work and somatic techniques and tools to support healthy processing of trauma and improving ability to identify and manage trauma triggers in healthy ways.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Being certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, the power of learning to utilize Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal skills to support clients in developing the skills to manage current and past stressors and traumas is remarkable. DBT is used in conjunction with CBT and IFS.
