LPCC, 15 years of experience
New to Grow
I am Brenda Pinson, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Endorsement (LPCC-S) in Ohio, with over 15 years of experience. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and discover new strengths. My Approach: I offer a person-centered, collaborative approach tailored to your unique needs. Using positive psychology, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/Tapping), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I help you uncover solutions and develop skills at your own pace. Think of me as your co-pilot on this journey—offering direction, empathy, and support. Areas of Expertise: I work with elders, adults, and teens, addressing issues such as adjustment, anger management, anxiety, depression, grief, stress, relaxation, women’s issues, and life transitions. My experience includes crisis intervention, anger management groups, and domestic violence offender groups. What to Expect: My goal is to create a welcoming, empowering environment where you feel supported and understood. Together, we’ll work to help you branch out, find balance, and move forward with confidence.
During our first session, we’ll take time to get acquainted and discuss what brings you to counseling. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and identify any challenges you’re facing. My priority is to ensure you feel comfortable and supported as we create a personalized plan that fits your needs and preferences. This collaborative approach sets the foundation for a positive and empowering therapy experience.
One of my greatest strengths is building genuine connections with my clients. I understand that life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, so I strive to create a safe, collaborative space—always with a touch of humor. My goal is to support your healing and growth by honoring your unique strengths and allowing the process to unfold at your own pace.
I have supported individuals facing a wide variety of challenges, such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, and grief. My experience includes helping clients navigate difficult emotions, adapt to change, and find effective coping strategies. I am committed to providing compassionate guidance as you work through these challenges and move toward greater well-being.
My strengths-based approach is grounded in positive psychology, focusing on your unique talents, resources, and abilities rather than just challenges. Together, we’ll identify and build upon your existing strengths to foster a more positive mindset. This empowering perspective helps you develop resilience and effective coping skills, making it easier to navigate life’s difficulties with confidence.
I incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help you become more present and aware in your daily life. By practicing mindfulness, you can learn to manage stress and anxiety with greater ease, approach your thoughts and feelings without judgment, and develop healthier ways to respond to challenges. This approach supports emotional regulation and overall well-being, empowering you to navigate life’s ups and downs with greater resilience.
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and change patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to your challenges. Through practical strategies and guided exercises, CBT empowers you to develop healthier coping skills, manage difficult emotions, and make positive changes in your daily life. This evidence-based approach is effective for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and stress.
Unlike traditional therapy models that may focus primarily on problems or symptoms, my approach emphasizes your strengths, resources, and capacity for growth. I believe that every individual has unique abilities and inner resilience that can be nurtured and developed. By combining evidence-based techniques with a strengths-based perspective, I help you build confidence, foster positive change, and navigate challenges more effectively.
