About me

Hello! I’m Priya, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey with over a decade of experience supporting adults through overwhelming transitions. I’m truly honored to walk alongside you on this journey. I enjoy working with both adults who may be navigating anxiety, relationship transitions, perinatal and postpartum mental health, infertility, and the emotional complexities of parenting. In addition, I have experience working with college age students navigating the many changes and pressures that come with college and early adulthood. As a parent myself, I can empathize! If you’re feeling stretched thin, uncertain, or not quite like yourself, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can slow down, process what you’re experiencing, and feel more grounded and understood.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I hope to learn more about you. In our first session, I will have some gentle questions to ask to learn more about your history, strengths, goals, and what led to you reach out at this time. I aim to create a warm and collaborative space, where you can take your time to share what feels comfortable. The first session is also a chance to get to know each other and for you to assess if I am a good fit to support you on this journey!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I use a strengths based approach to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I draw from evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT. I have completed trainings specifically to support clients with perinatal mental health, postpartum, and navigating their fertility journey through Postpartum International. My approach to therapy is warm, empathetic, collaborative, and grounded in creating a space where clients feel supported. I truly believe in the power of empathy. I actually named my practice, Embraced with Empathy Therapy! I believe that each person’s journey is unique and I tailor my work to meet clients where they are.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adults who are navigating a transition or simply feeling like life has become harder to manage than they expected. You may be adjusting to college or adulthood, experiencing changes in relationships or family life, trying to conceive, becoming a parent, navigating infertility or postpartum challenges, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. My ideal client is someone who wants a nonjudgmental space to slow down, make sense of what they’re experiencing, develop coping strategies, create a greater sense of balance and connection in their lives., and feel more confident moving forward.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I use a strengths based approach in my work, which includes helping you identify or discover your own internal resources that will help you with your goals!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a commonly used approach that helps you explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. They all go hand in hand when processing and working through goals.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is another approach that can offer hands on skills that you can use in your every day life to help manage symptoms or stressors. DBT helps you create your own toolkit!

Multicultural

Learning more about your culture, beliefs, and values is important to our work. There may be parts that resonate with us or parts that we struggle with. In session, this is a space we can explore these layers together.
