I am a third-generation social services professional. Helping others isn’t just what I do; it’s what I know. It’s my passion. With nearly 20 years in the field, I bring a wide range of experience that has shaped me into a well-rounded practitioner. I have worked with the Department of Corrections and DCFS, and I have experience in both high-acuity inpatient settings and intensive outpatient therapy. I am experienced in working with complex family and relationship dynamics and provide affirming, LGBTQ+-friendly care.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we start with a brief introduction. I then give clients the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. From there, we complete a mental health assessment to identify the areas they would like to focus on in therapy. I always let clients know that if they feel I am not a good fit, I encourage them to say so. The most important thing is that they find a therapist they feel comfortable working with.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I tend to be very direct with clients. I’ve found this approach helps cut through the “noise” that can sometimes get in the way of meaningful progress. Sessions often include a good amount of laughter, and many clients have shared that our work together feels more like a conversation than a traditional therapy session.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love helping people reconnect with their own inner strength. Many people already have the tools they need to reach their goals. They just have trouble accessing them at times. That’s where I step in. I’m also intentional about making mental health services more accessible to men and people of color, two groups that are still underrepresented in mental health spaces.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I have almost 20 years in the field, this lets me pull from numerous treatment methods. Whatever is best for the situation.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have found that often times people get discouraged thinking they have to make huge changes in their lives. With CBT, we find that small "tweaks" here and there, to how we think about situations can have a tremendous impact.

Adlerian

I believe it is important to help people see things as they really are, not as they want them to be. Often times we believe our perception defines reality, but that is not always the case.

I just want to say that Mr Brooks is a very intelligent and open minded individual who will listen and also give you questions about yourself and assist in getting a solution rather than stay stuck on your issues. I would like to thank Mr Brooks for helping me this far.

Looking back, I spent my entire 2025 "in therapy". Anthony has helped me identify behaviors within myself/others effectively allowing more thoughtful feelings/responses vs living through emotions/traumas in real time. Anthony's morales align with mine making self-divulsion quite easy. He helps off-set my femininity by presenting a soft masculine energy, effectively allowing me to understand my husband better. Anthony's name has become a staple in our home - I'm so grateful for him.
