About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and New York. I received my Masters from University of Tennessee, Knoxville and have been practicing for over 20 years. I have worked with diverse clients from childhood through end of life. My passion has been assisting clients, and their families process their addictions and traumas so they can live their most fulfilled life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session I will introduce myself and then we can jump into what is bringing you into therapy and why now is the right time. Through this first session we can start creating treatment goals to work on in the follow up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I treat each client as the individual that they are and use different modalities to ensure they gain the coping skills that will assist them in the most fulfilling life. Clients have told me that I am easy to talk to and they enjoy opening up to me.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have experience working with adolescent clients through the end of life. My clients feel their trauma or addiction has decreased their quality of life and are wanting assistance in gaining the coping skills to improve their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to assist you in understanding how thoughts impact feelings and behaviors. By using CBT exercises you can decrease negative thoughts by changing the language you tell yourself.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

For those that have had traumatic experiences which have resulted in fears of places or things we will slowly work together to decrease the anxiety and fear through gentle exposure.

Motivational Interviewing

Through understanding the why when it comes to wanting to change, we will be able to come up with action plan to create the change.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting works with the deep brain and the body through its direct access to the autonomic and limbic systems within the body’s central nervous system.

EMDR

During EMDR therapy, I will guide you through bilateral stimulation, most commonly using side-to-side eye movements, while you focuses on a traumatic memory or distressing thought. This process helps reduce the emotional intensity of the memory, Body reactions and allows the brain to reprocess it in a healthier way. EMDR does not require you to discuss the trauma in detail, which can make it less distressing than traditional talk therapy. The therapy follows an 8-phase protocol, including history-taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation of positive beliefs, body scan, closure, and reevaluation. This structured approach ensures safety and effectiveness while facilitating the brain’s natural healing process.

Very disappointing experience. I found this therapist lacking in empathy, flexibility, and genuine concern for my well-being. When additional support, understanding or accommodation were needed, I was dismissed rather than helped. My concerns did not seem to be taken seriously, and I frequently left sessions feeling unheard and unsupported. Therapy should be a place where clients feel respected and cared for, but that was not my experience. I cannot recommend this provider.
