About me

I am an LGBTQ+ Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist. I am committed to offering kind, compassionate, culturally responsive, and practical support to all of my clients as they navigate the challenges of daily life. The goal is to help you achieve positive, healthy healing and lasting change through evidence-based practices and responsive and practical support.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, warm, and non-judgmental environment where you feel safe to share your feelings, challenges, and concerns. We will start by discussing what brought you to therapy at this time, as well as any specific issues or goals you may have. I will ask questions designed to better understand your background, current situation, and what you are hoping to achieve during our time together. The initial session is also a time for you to ask any questions about therapy and the process of our work together. Our main goal during the first session is to begin building a trusting relationship and gain a clear understanding of how together we can begin your journey toward positive change and healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Through the use of individual sessions with clients who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma, I utilize unconditional positive regard and tailor each session to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring that sessions are age-appropriate and effective. Ensuring a safe, warm, and supportive environment is a fundamental aspect of my therapeutic practice. My aim is always to make certain that my clients feel safe, respected, valued and heard. This supportive atmosphere provides the platform for developing healthy coping strategies, building resilience, developing a strong sense of empowerment, and creating positive change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a passion for working with people who are disenfranchised by societal expectations and norms, and I have consistently been a strong advocate for the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, as well as the undervalued and frequently overlooked elderly population.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCBT) as my primary approach to providing therapy. MBCBT is an evidence-based treatment that combines mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy techniques to help people become more aware of their thoughts and feelings while developing healthy coping skills. My goal is to empower my clients to better manage their mental health through individualized sessions that are personalized to each client’s distinctive needs, unique attributes, and specific challenges.

Lynn brings me always back on track when I'm having a hard time applying the techniques for my anxiety using humor. She's very authentic with no BS.
