Jessica Dozier
Hello and welcome! My name is Jessica and I am a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Northern Indiana. I graduated with my master's degree from Indiana University in 2019. Since then, I have been working as a therapist/ counselor and case manager for self-referred, agency-referred, and unhoused clients.
I provide a judgement-free space. You can be your authentic self while we work together to understand your challenges, build on your strengths, and create meaningful change.
I enjoy working with adults and am skilled in working with diverse populations. I specialize in trauma-informed care and solution-focused approaches to build on client strengths and assist with managing anxiety, depression, co-dependency, mood/ personality disorders, substance use, and more. As a LCSW, my goal is to foster a sense of empowerment to help you heal, grow, and thrive. I'm looking forward to serving you in meeting your therapeutic goals and enhancing overall wellness.
First session
In our initial session, we will first spend some time getting to know each other. I will then gather information about your personal history and your motivation for therapy. From there, we will discuss goals for treatment and scheduling further appointments, if interested. I aim to leave clients with a sense of rapport and safety. Initial sessions will be spent building a baseline of trust, identifying concerns, and establishing collaborative goals.
Strengths
I believe the client- provider relationship is the most important element of therapy. For this reason, I prefer a more laid back approach- incorporating humor when appropriate and creating an environment where clients can feel comfortable being their authentic selves. I am a person-centered therapist- I don't see a diagnosis, I see a person with unique strengths and a story to tell. I provide a compassionate, judgement-free space where we can work together to understand your challenges, build on your strengths, and create meaningful change. My method is to meet you where you are at, walk with you side-by-side throughout the therapeutic process, and leave you with confidence that I am here to support you every step of the way.
Ideal clients
I love working with adults of all ages. My ideal client is someone who is motivated for change, flexible and receptive to feedback/ new perspectives, and embraces their unique self. We will be a great match if you are open-minded, ready to engage in self-reflection, and willing to communicate honestly while examining your thoughts and behaviors. I am passionate about clients who show up consistently and ready to take active responsibility in the therapeutic process.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I believe in evidence-based approaches that help individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can be a powerful tool to help regulate emotions, reframe negative thinking, and build self-esteem. In our sessions we will discuss ways to make your thoughts work for you instead of against you.
Integrative
I am experienced with holistic forms of psychotherapy that combine ideas and techniques from multiple therapeutic approaches, such as CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness.
Strength-Based
I enjoy implementing a collaborative, goal-oriented approach that builds on personal values and past successes to empower clients and recognize personal strengths.
