My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I provide treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma PTSD, narcisstic abuse recovery and other conditions. This includes treatement of complicated grief stemming from issues of death, break ups, job or any losses. I have expertise working with Military and Veteran population and their familiies.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I provide supportive solution focused counseling to help with every day life challenges. This includes couples, marital, pre-marital, divorce mediation, co-parenting and family counseling. I have 25 years experience working with Military and Veteran populations.

Couples Counseling

I help couple's address concerns related to improving communication, reducing family conflict, healing through infidelity, trust issues, betrayal trauma, parenting and life transitions. Couple's counseling is normally provided on a self pay basis. Health insurance generally does not pay for stand alone couple's counseling unless one party has a diagnostic condition that is being treated that stems from the relationship distress ( i.e anxiety, adjustment issues etc). Check your insurance benefits for coverage.

I am new to therapy and had my first appointment with Dr. Cruz and it was a great experience. She listened to me and challenged me while supporting at the same time. It was very helpful and I look forward to my next session.

For my first session with her, she was very open and allowing for communication and understanding between the two of us. I don’t like that there was no closure to the conversation and issues expressed during our session due to timing but I’m intrigued to see what the next session brings.
