New to Grow
I’m Robin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma therapist at Bright Skies Therapy. I work with adults who may look like they’re holding everything together on the outside, but inside feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode. I provide a safe, supportive space to process what you’ve been through, understand yourself more deeply, and develop the tools to move forward with greater peace and confidence.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. We’ll discuss your goals, what has been difficult lately, and what you hope will feel different moving forward. You won’t be pressured to share anything before you’re ready. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we’ll begin creating a plan that fits your needs and helps you start making meaningful progress.
I bring a combination of clinical expertise, real-world experience, and a genuine understanding that healing is not one-size-fits-all. My approach is warm and compassionate, while also providing the structure and practical tools many clients need to create meaningful change. With a background in trauma therapy and years of experience supporting people through high-stress environments and major life transitions, I understand how difficult it can be to keep moving forward when you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and trauma-focused therapies to help clients better understand themselves, process the past, and build a stronger foundation for the future.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to understand themselves more deeply and make meaningful changes in their life. They may be struggling with anxiety, trauma, stress, difficult life transitions, feeling overwhelmed, or patterns that no longer feel helpful. Many of my clients are people who have spent a long time being strong for others and are ready for a space where they can finally focus on themselves. They are open to learning practical tools, exploring their experiences with curiosity, and actively participating in the healing process. Therapy is a partnership, and I work best with clients who are motivated to grow, willing to try new approaches, and looking for more than just a place to talk. They want to develop skills, create change, and feel more grounded in their lives.

EMDR
I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process painful experiences that may still feel emotionally overwhelming or continue to impact their thoughts, emotions, relationships, or sense of safety. My approach to EMDR is compassionate, collaborative, and paced around your comfort level. You do not have to share every detail of your experiences for EMDR to be effective, and we will spend time building coping skills and emotional safety before beginning processing. I integrate EMDR with other evidence-based approaches to help clients understand their experiences, reduce distress, and move forward with greater confidence and peace.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Many of us develop patterns of thinking and coping that once helped us survive difficult experiences but may no longer be serving us. My approach to CBT is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you develop tools you can use outside of therapy. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thought patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and work toward changes that help you feel more confident, balanced, and in control of your life.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients who are struggling with the lasting impact of trauma and difficult experiences. Trauma can affect the way we see ourselves, other people, and the world around us, sometimes leading to guilt, shame, self-blame, or feeling stuck in painful beliefs. My approach to CPT is structured, supportive, and collaborative. Together, we work to understand how trauma has shaped your thoughts and beliefs, identify patterns that are keeping you stuck, and develop a more balanced and compassionate perspective. The goal is not to erase what happened, but to help you move forward with greater freedom, confidence, and control over your life.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to help clients who struggle with falling asleep, staying asleep, waking too early, or feeling exhausted despite spending time in bed. Sleep difficulties are often connected to stress, anxiety, trauma, and patterns that can unintentionally keep the brain and body stuck in a cycle of poor rest. My approach to CBT-I is structured, practical, and personalized. Together, we’ll explore your sleep patterns, identify factors that may be contributing to insomnia, and develop evidence-based strategies to help improve your relationship with sleep. The goal is to help you build sustainable sleep habits and feel more rested, regulated, and able to fully engage in your life.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use mindfulness-based therapy to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical responses without becoming overwhelmed by them. Many people spend years feeling stuck in worry, self-criticism, or operating on autopilot. Mindfulness can help create space between what you experience and how you respond. My approach to mindfulness is practical, grounded, and trauma-informed. Together, we’ll build skills that support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and help you feel more present and connected to yourself. Mindfulness is not about forcing yourself to stop thinking or ignoring difficult emotions . It is about learning how to meet your experiences with greater understanding, balance, and compassion.
