I provide an all-gender affirming, warm and non-judgemental approach that blends components of CBT, ACT, and narrative therapies to help you reconnect with your values, heal from the past, and create more peace in everyday life. I aim to bring a healthy balance of optimism and realism into each session. I’m especially passionate about supporting clients who are navigating gender identity, healing from religious trauma, or facing neurodivergence-centered challenges in relationships. I have extensive training in mental health support for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and can help to confirm or challenge self-diagnosis in 2-3 sessions. I enjoy helping people strategize for self accomodation and advocacy around their neurodivergence. I see therapy as a partnership where we create space for both reflection and action. Together, we’ll uncover what’s holding you back, develop practical tools for change, and work toward a life that feels more aligned and authentic.
Our first session will feel like a conversation about where you have been, what has gotten in the way, and where you would like to go from here. We'll talk about what you want out of this experience, and what you don't want. In future sessions I will meet you with what is top of your mind that day, while also circling back to the original goals you have set.
When I say I don't judge, I mean it. I bring compassion, creativity, and humor into the process while maintaining a focus on goals. You can expect an approach that values your individuality. I've spent over a decade supporting clients in their homes, hospitals, group homes, community clinics & schools. This has allowed me a thorough understanding of the systems that my clients have had to deal with. In plain speak, I've seen and heard it all, and almost nothing shocks me, except maybe wealth! I have specialized training in autism, religious trauma, and adoption. I am adoptee-centered, (fog free)
If you're looking for a place to learn to love and trust yourself, a place for someone to bear witness to your pain, a place to reflect without judgement, then you've found the right place. I am best positioned to work with people with religious or childhood trauma, neurodivergence, gender dysphoria, new parents, adoptees and cult survivors. If you’re looking for therapy that combines humor, depth, and authenticity, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this process. Areas of clinical need that I am less positioned to address include addiction, eating disorders, racial trauma & bipolar disorder. Studies show that these populations benefit from providers with specialized training and lived experience in these areas, which I do not have.

I use traditional CBT to help identify the connection between thoughts, actions and experiences and strategize ways to improve and relieve patterns that have been holding people back. For people who have experienced trauma, I combine this approach with a gentle trauma focus to increase feelings of safety.
I use narrative therapy to help people envision their lives from a place of growth, hope and courage. This treatment method is based on the idea that people create narratives to make sense of their lives, and that these narratives can influence their wellbeing.
I employ a gender affirming approach to therapy to support gender expansive individuals in exploring the nuanced and complex experience of gender exploration and transition. I am able to meet monthly with individuals who are seeking to meet standards for coverage of gender affirmation surgery.
I employ an integrative approach to therapy, tying together multiple treatment modalities based on the unique individual needs of each patient. This includes samples of DBT coping and distress tolerance strategies, mindfulness, solution-focused collaborative problem solving, and psychodynamic assessment of trauma, childhood and family influences.

I am so glad I found Amyl! I was adopted and diagnosed with autism as an adult, and they have offered me much better support than any of my past therapists (~15 years worth). They're incredibly knowledgable about the issues most central to me, and bring concrete action steps into each session. They're compassionate, and not afraid to challenge my thoughts when necessary. Their presence is very authentic and low-key, which helps me feel more comfortable every session.
