Hi there! I’m Tracy Birkinbine, a Licensed Professional Counselor with two decades of experience helping people feel more grounded, more hopeful, and more like themselves again. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, and all the curveballs that life tends to throw, whether it’s a major life transition or just that nagging feeling of being stuck. I also have a special place in my heart for those dealing with infertility, adoption, and the rollercoaster of parenting (I’ve been there, in more ways than one, through infertility, adoption, biology, and stepfamily life). Clients often tell me I’m easy to talk to, down-to-earth, and real. That’s exactly what I strive for: a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can show up just as you are. I take a collaborative, practical approach to therapy using tools from CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused work, always tailored to what you need. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming and deeply committed to inclusivity. My goal is for you to feel safe, heard, and empowered, whether we’re tackling a lifelong struggle or just trying to get through a tough season. If you’re feeling nervous about starting therapy, know that you’re not alone, and you’re in the right place!
In our first session, I’ll take time to get to know you—your background, what challenges you’ve been facing, and what’s brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past, what goals you have, and what kind of therapy style feels right for you. Most importantly, it’s a chance for us to build rapport and make sure you feel comfortable and supported.
What sets me apart is my active, compassionate, and practical approach. I do more than just listen. I work collaboratively with clients to identify patterns, build insight, and develop real-world strategies that lead to lasting change. Having personally experienced the pain of infertility and the challenges of parenting children with ADHD, I bring deep empathy and lived understanding to the work I do. Clients often tell me they feel truly seen, heard, and empowered in our sessions.
I work best with clients who are ready to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and make meaningful changes, even if they feel stuck or overwhelmed. I enjoy working with individuals who are ready to make changes in their lives, understand that it's up to them to make those changes (with encouragement and support), and recognize that no therapist or person can "fix" them — it has to come from them. I specialize in helping individuals struggling with anxiety, ADHD, and life transitions, especially those who are motivated to develop practical tools and new perspectives. My ideal clients are open to exploring their thoughts and behaviors, and they are looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space to grow. I especially enjoy watching clients realize their own strengths and building upon what they already have within!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and to develop practical strategies for change. I tailor CBT techniques—such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and problem-solving—to meet each client’s unique needs. This approach is especially effective for clients dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) as an evidence-based approach to treat clients with OCD and related anxiety disorders. By gradually exposing clients to feared situations while helping them resist compulsive behaviors, ERP reduces anxiety and builds long-term resilience. I tailor the pace and structure of ERP to each client’s readiness and specific symptoms.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate Mindfulness Therapy to help clients develop present-moment awareness and reduce reactivity to distressing thoughts and emotions. Through techniques like breathwork, grounding, and mindful observation, clients learn to respond more calmly and intentionally to life’s challenges. I integrate mindfulness into treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma to support emotional regulation and self-compassion.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients identify their strengths, set clear goals, and build on what’s already working in their lives. By focusing on solutions rather than problems, clients gain confidence and momentum toward positive change. This approach is especially effective for clients seeking brief, goal-oriented support.
Strength-Based
I use Strengths-Based Therapy to help clients recognize and build upon their existing abilities, values, and resilience. By focusing on what’s strong rather than what’s wrong, clients develop a more empowered and hopeful view of themselves. This approach supports growth and motivation, especially in clients facing anxiety, ADHD, or life transitions.

I think Tracy is the best therapist I’ve ever had and I’ve been through a few. So grateful to have her.
