About me

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Chicago. I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago at Illinois (UIC) and have been practicing for 10 years. I work with adults struggling with anxiety and depression by using client-centered treatment such as Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I will help you realize your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected and as we work together to understand this cycle, we will find a way to change those thoughts that bring on anxiety and depression, and replace them with thoughts that aid you to be the person you want to be.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first visit we will review your pre assessment provided prior to our appointment. We will discuss roles, responsibilities, and the structure of our therapeutic relationship. This sounds like a lot, but there will still be plenty of time to ask questions and get to the reason why/what brought you to therapy and someone after session work. Very laid back session, really introducing ourselves to each other and therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are my calm demeanor, ability to actively listen with empathy, being a realist and allowing my clients to talk though their issues providing support as they realize they have what's needed to thrive without daily anxiety and depression, by allowing them to be the expert in their lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My expertise is working with adults who are struggling to find calm and focus in their lives. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their careers.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT with clients for the past eight years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety and depression. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressful life.

Motivational Interviewing

I have been using Motivational interviewing (MI) with clients for the past nine years. MI is a counseling approach designed to help clients find the motivation to make a positive behavior change. This client-centered approach is particularly effective for people who have mixed feelings about changing their behavior and is a talk collaboration with between the client and therapist.
