Welcome—I'm Glad You're Here With many years of experience as a social worker, I am passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and pursue meaningful change. My mission is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can reflect on your current reality, explore your goals, and take empowered steps toward the life you envision. Having spent much of my career supporting first responders and helping professionals, I understand the unique pressures and complexities that come with these roles. I am deeply committed to your personal well-being, and I offer a supportive partnership as you work toward clarity, resilience, and fulfillment. Whether you're seeking guidance on career transitions, relationships, or simply stepping into a new and improved chapter of life, I am here to help you stay focused on your goals and dreams for success. Let’s take the next step together. Please note: I provide ONLY individual therapy to adults. There are therapists on this platform who serve adolescents and couples and specialize in that work. I encourage you to seek the service that fits your situation.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first meeting, you can expect that we will take some time at the start to be sure that you are comfortable with me and with the responsibility I carry to keep your information private and to respect your work and our time. Generally in the first meetings, we will start with your goals, both long term and for this session. Then you will be able to share information that you think is relevant and helpful to both of us in reaching those goals. Then, you can always expect that in the last 10-15 minutes, we will talk about what worked and what is next. Please know that I believe that the match between us is going to be crucial to your success and I encourage you to do two things: one is to trust your gut and if we are not a match, that is okay! Find your person! And second, if you do feel that I am right for your work at this time, give me feedback on what is working and where you think things should go differently. It is really important that your work and your time are valued and supported in therapy, so we will touch on this regularly.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I strive to create a productive space where you can gather yourself and also gain energy for the work. When times are tough, I can provide calm within the storm, and as things improve, I will encourage your independence. Most of all, know that I am committed to your goals and your safety.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I welcome work with people who come from all walks of life and experiences and who are looking for a way to make their lives more fulfilling and rewarding. Whether you are considering and in the midst of big transitions, in need of a nonjudgemental ear, or looking to change your relationships and connection to others, we can work together to figure out how you want to grow and change. Expect to set yourself some reflectionand planning time to try out the things you are considering while we work together, and know that through the ups and downs of change and therapy, you will have support as well as a place to challenge yourself and grow.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I began working with and training Motivational Interviewing over 25 years ago and I love to work with this method because it helps each person make their own decision and identify what and how they may want to change in their journey to their best life: based on respect , empathy, and empowerment, I use this approach to support people in exploring their own needs and goals through their strengths.

Strength-Based

My work with a strengths based approach evolved over the past 35 years as the field has changed and improved: we know that we all go further when we use our strengths and gifts and talents to address tough issues and tough times: having an open mind and truly listening for strengths is one of the ways that I help others think about different ways to approach problems and barriers to achieve their goals.

Eclectic

Over these many years in and alongside therapy practice, I have picked up tools from many perspectives. When it comes down to it, as we meet and discuss the goals each person or family has, the therapy method should follwo the needs for those goals.

Trauma Informed Care

With decades in the work of addressing child and family violence, I have continuously kept up to date on the biological and interpersonal impact of experiencing trauma along the life continuum. Some traumatic experiences are based on particular events and relationships, other traumatic events lie outside of our family and network (for example accidents, war, the history of racism and sexism in our culture) and impact each person in different ways. In my approach with everyone I see, I am always aware of and responsive to understanding how these events may impact us today and in our work together.

Most people seem to have a difficult time understanding me when I get into discussions concerning the hypotheses of spiritualism and science. Tricia doesn't nod her head in idle agreement, she contributes to the discussion, thereby allowing me to understand that what I am speaking of she understands. That is a rarity and something I value and appreciate.

Tricia appeared to genuinely listen while being upfront about what she could and couldn’t provide as a therapist. Being forthright and direct, I am appreciative of her honesty and the goals she assisted in locating. I feel as if she is a true asset for anyone willing to do the work without anticipating the work of a superhero. I am very excited to have her on my team for dissecting the issues and problem-solving for results.

She always has the best questions for me to consider what I want out of a situation, a challenge. Those questions are very empowering for supporting me through whatever I’m working through.
