I have worked in the behavioral health field for over 22 years starting in psychiatric rehabilitation and social services. Afterward, I transitioned to program administration and clinical services. I have five years of direct clinical experience working with diverse populations. I am an eclectic therapist that practices using many counseling and psychology theories, including humanistic, behavioral, person-centered, Gestalt, and other evidence-based approaches. Interventions are tailored to a person's needs and preferences.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, disclosures, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am an eclectic approach therapist that provides a safe enviornment using humanistic concepts and also outcome-based interventions. I believe in helping people and promoting wellness through acceptance not just "treating symptoms."
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Person-centered, ADHD and assistance with executive functioning, CBT, REBT, DBT, ACT, Grief Counseling, Mindfulness, Narrative therapy, Psychodynamic, Psycho-education, Substance Use Treatment, Anger Management, Supportive Therapy, Trauma-informed, Body-oriented therapy, Interpersonal therapy.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is an evidence-based approach that uses CBT and adds four additional skills (mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness). This is a module-based therapy that builds upon skills.
Somatic
Somatic-based therapies assist with nervous systme regulation. They are especially useful for different types of anxiety.
Eclectic
The use of more than one type of therapy intervention in a single session.

Our initial interaction was very reassuring. Amber was both curious and informative which I deeply appreciated. Her value for an eclectic “tool kit” as her approach to care is what drew me to schedule the first appointment and I found it to be very refreshing.
